INSTRUCTIONAL GOAL: Students must be capable of sounding out new words (which is why we introduced Phonemic Awareness, Phonemes, and Phonics in Sequence 02 and will re-visit them throughout the elements), “cross-checking” with known words, finding little words within longer words, and using configuration and cueing.
