The ULTIMATE Study Guide

by Donald E. Werve, Jr., M.Ed.

September, 2004  Many people, especially ,iddle school and high school students between the ages of 12 and 17, are not able to understand that what they do today, and many of the habits they are forming, can and probably will impact much of the rest of their lives.  If you are one of these people, please take my word for it.  It is one of the ultimate facts of life!

This IVE Focus Text handbook, one of the three “Keys to Learning” handbooks which cover three basic learning skills, is written specifically for middle school and high school English and Social Studies students. But at the same time, it has many pointers and tips just as important to any person getting ready for an academic quiz or test. It is also useful for parents, or anyone else interested in helping students succeed.

Before we go any further, I want to tell you about the format of this book.  That format has a purpose, and that purpose is to allow you to personalize it to your own needs and understanding.  There is plenty of room to the outside of every page for you to make notes or write down any questions or comments you may think of as you are reading.   The type is large to make it easier to read, and it is designed to be kept in a binder so you can easily refer to it as a guide. To begin, I recommend using a 3-ring binder, with separators for each subject, to keep track of your papers. And, of course, the first section of that binder would be a good place for this book.
