Compound Words
(Structural Analysis #2)

Compound words are two words that are put together to form a new word. These are side-by-side words. To remember what they are, simply remember "You take two words and squash them together."

Starting with concrete objects or drawing compound word parts, check out basic compound words. Be sure spelling and pronunciation for the new words are accurate. Begin with more concrete words before you move to abstract. It is easier to learn the word eyelash than the word afternoon.
